Ubisoft brings the launch date of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla forward by one week. Set in the early Middle Ages at the time of Britain’s first Viking invasion, the game will now enter international commerce on November 10, 2020. This means the title will appear in parallel on the new Microsoft Xbox Series X and Series consoles. S. The release was previously scheduled for November 17th.
Focus on new generation versions, but different platforms are served
Along with Microsoft’s next-gen machines, the latest version of the Assassin’s Creed series will also be available on PC, Xbox One models, the PS4 or PS4 Pro and on the Google Stadia streaming service starting November 11. Oddly enough, there is currently no specific release date for the PS5 version. Customers who initially choose the Xbox One version of the title can upgrade to the Series X or Series S version for free in the future.
Ubisoft has yet to comment on how much better Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be on the new generation of consoles and the PC than on the Xbox One and PS4 series. However, the company has already announced in advance that there will be new graphics features on more powerful hardware. Thanks to an SSD in all future console models and the vast majority of modern gaming PCs, one can certainly expect faster load and travel times on these systems.
Cyberpunk 2077 casts long shadows
Besides the decision, which is understandable for marketing reasons, to release the new Assassin’s Creed directly as the launch title for Microsoft’s next-gen consoles, there should be another good reason for the early release. It’s simply called Cyberpunk 2077.
The sci-fi title from the makers of Witcher CD Projekt Red, eagerly awaited by fans around the world, also belongs to the category of action role-playing games and will be available on November 19, 2020 in the international market. Thanks to the recent postponement, Ubisoft is securing its Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at least a good week of sales without this huge competition.
Right in the middle of the viking lifestyle
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will transport players to a huge open world set against the historical backdrop of the dark British Middle Ages. In this scenario, you can take on the role of a Viking, which can be created according to your own ideas and preferences before the adventure begins.
In the course of the game, you will be able to fight battles against English troops, witness the sieges of fortresses and build your own Viking settlements. The title will offer full role-playing mechanics, which should among other things lead to an increasingly powerful avatar and a world that changes depending on the type and progression of the game.
